The EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X are serial device servers that connect RS-422/485 serial devices such as PLCs, meters and sensors to an IP-based Ethernet LAN. They enable almost any device with serial interfaces to connect and share an Ethernet network. EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X offer different modes of operation: COM port redirection (Virtual COM port), TCP server, TCP client and UDP mode In COM port redirection mode, standard serial Peratio calls are transparently redirected to the EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X, ensuring compatibility with legacy serial devices and enabling backward compatibility with existing software. With TCP server, TCP client and UDP modes, the EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X ensure compatibility of network software that uses a standard network API. In addition, you can have serial devices communicate peer-to-peer with other devices without intermediate host PCs and software programming. With their compact and slim IP30 metal housing, EKI-1511X and EKI-1512X can be easily installed in a field cabinet. Eki-1511X and EKI-1512X feature an RS-422/485 connector, allowing the user to set up the physical wiring without the need for manually made connectors.
