The distance limit of USB 3.0 is about 3 metres. If up to 15 metres is required, consider the USB 3.0 Spectra 3001-15 active copper cable. This rugged, bus-powered active cable supports USB 3.0 throughputs of 5 Gbps and delivers 5 V/900 mA without the need for an external power source. A true plug-and-play solution, the Spectra 3001-15 cable is compatible with all leading operating systems and features a lockable USB connector compliant with AIA USB3 Vision. The cable is guaranteed for 2 years from the date of purchase. Backwards compatibility to USB 2.0/1.1 is not supported by this particular extender.
